Diary of a Mad Bride

Before the happiest day of your life, comes a lot of really crazy ones. And in my case, trying to plan a wedding with half the members across an ocean - means I have more than my share!

The drama started when we walked into David's Bridal. We immediately when searching for the ivory and rum pink dress (see favorite dress picture in previous post) in a size 18 that a tried on a couple of weeks ago...couldn't find it ANYWHERE. My consultant, the same one as last time, came by and tried to find it. She finally found a 16 that another girl was trying on, so when she was done I tried on that. I still really loved the coloring of the dress, but I tried it on in white to show my mom. She preferred the white I still preferred the ivory and rum pink. So I had to decide - I knew the ivory and rum pink would be difficult to find bm's dresses to compliment, but maybe it was possible So I had pretty much decided on that one.

The consultant said the dress might be discontinued (went through it being discontinued according to the site a few months ago and then is reappeared.) So she went back to check, apparently they were discontinuing it in the "plus" sizes (20 and up) but she could still get it for me in the 18. So she took me over to the tiara and veil section and the one tiara I liked that matched the dress...you guessed...was discontinued. So they gave us the numbers of other stores that had it in stock.

Meanwhile my mom started seeing if any of the bm's dreses they had in the store matched with the dress...good thing she did. It turned out that rum pink does not match ANY OTHER COLOR but rum pink...and guess what...they don't make any bm's dresses in rum pink. (Saying that I have seen some online I wasn't up for testing the colors on websites...and didn't know if I wanted that for my bm's anyway.) So I started getting really frustrated about the whole thing. The dress I loved didn't match anything and I didn't like the white After about half an hour of this...suddenly it dawned on me WHY NOT TRY THE ALL IVORY DRESS.My mom quickly found one...and that was sorted. The dress should be in sometime in September!!! I also go my veil and tiara ;)
